Amelia Sordell Founder of Klowt began posting content intentionally on LinkedIn in 2019.
Very quickly she went from 0-13k followers, and had weekly DMs from people asking how she did it. Instead of replying to those messages individually, she began documenting what she was doing to grow a following – and drive business for her then-employer on LinkedIn.
That 13k following became 24k and Amelia realised that following could be driving revenue to her own business – and paying her to do something she loved.
Amelia spent the new few months gearing up to her exit, and finally quit her job on Friday 7th August 2020, announcing to the world that Klowt was open for business on the following Monday.
By that Thursday that week, Klowt had it’s first two clients. Within 6 weeks, Amelia was at capacity and hired our first employee, Danielle. The demand was clear – people needed help building their personal brands, and were willing to pay to make that happen.
Over the founding years, Klowt went from a team of 2 – 17 people, and annual turnover from $500k – $1.8 million in just 3 years.
To date, we’ve generated $4 million + in inbound revenue using the exact personal branding framework we use to build our clients brands today. Working with senior leadership teams from brands like SkyBet, Paddy Power, BrewDog, Hello Fresh, The National Lottery and Alvarez and Marsal, we’ve generated over 500 million views online, created 7 LinkedIn Top Voices, helped thousands of people build, grow and monetise their personal brands.
Amelia now has an online following of over 300k people. But when first began building her personal brand, there was no Personal Branding Playbook. She learned by trial and error – and was able to build a business where founders paid Klowt upwards of $120,000 a year to build theirs.
